A Rockin' New Year
It's a Perth thing. For generations the bright young things from Perth have been going to the races on new years day. The rockstars amongst us sun ourselves in 1st floor VIP luxury, sipping cool beer and cheap wine. And we do all this, usually without seeing a horse.
The Rockin' Horse is Perth Cup's only fully elevated venue – both a 2 story sky villa and VIP rock venue in the truest sense, real music, lots of red velvet and a view to die for. Shit, we'd fill it with smoke and make the floors sticky if they'd let us.
If you're up to joining 35,000 other fun loving punters in one of the louder more exclusive trackside marquees and love, Bon, Jimmy, Janis, Iggy, Kurt or Michael. Then this is definitely the tent for you.
Dazed & Confused?
Well its on new years day – what do you expect? Over the last few years NYD at Ascot has been through a huge amount of change – a bit like going through puberty really – but now after a couple of really good years the event has again got its shit together and its for this reason that we're launching The 2 storey high Rockin' Horse.
Tentland 2010
Tentland 2010 will feature just a handful of venues– all offering something a bit different - but none as high, or with the testicles to do it as loud or proud as The Rockin' Horse.
The new Tentland has strictly limited capacity (about 60% of what it used to be) to ensure that those lucky enough to secure a ticket can enjoy a day at the races in style and comfort. Perth Racing (the people who run the race track) have worked hard to bring the event up to scratch and after a couple of good years, we can be confident in delivering a premium quality day at the races in old fashioned rock and roll style.

The Rockin' Horse
Style
The Rockin' Horse is the marquee for the bright young things from Perth– Ascot's only 2 story marquee.
A sky villa that combines the intellectual stimulation of Rockwiz with the Raffles Hotel, with the character of a 60's Chicago blues club. The feel is red velvet and gold trim, lots of old couches and an air conditioning system that really works.
The Bar at The Rockin' Horse is big enough to serve all and has enough staff and stock to keep up with Jimmy, Janis, Johnny and Kurt going hard.
Why 2 Storeys?
Location, location, location! Perfectly situated trackside on the main straight with one side overlooking the racetrack and the other overlooking the famous Perth cup Lounge. The Rockin' Horse gives you prime position to watch the passing parade or get down and dirty with masses. Oh, and its close enough to the finishing post to not need the large screens to see all the racing action.
What's Included
The Rockin' Horse is definitely not the cheapest or the largest tent in Tentland and it doesn't want to be. It's the Tentland VIP marquee and has a genuinely exclusive, 2 storey high premium offer. Your all inclusive ticket price includes:

- Strictly limited ticket sales (400) to make sure everyone's rockin' in comfort.
- Amazing entertainment program
- 5 hours of free drinks from a fully stocked bar, proudly serving a full range of Spirits, Crown Lager, Rosemount wines, good bubbles and plenty of water for those who need to slow down.
- An excellent food menu served buffet style (food will be available from 12.00 midday through to 6.00pm)
- A thumping sound system and enough lighting to make you believe your really listening to Bon.
- Trackside positioning
- Enough bathrooms – that are regularly cleaned
- VIP access to the famous Lounge
- Exclusive after party at Eurobar (with buses to take you there).

Rockin' Tips
Dress Code
The Rockin' Horse is a stylish venue. So in true rock and roll style, feel free to wear as much black as you can handle.
As a minimum, Perth Racing request gentlemen to wear tailored pants, a dress shirt and fully closed shoes while ladies are required to wear an appropriate dress or a tailored pant and top/shirt style outfit. Actually we don't give a shit what you wear – just make sure you look hot. However, unless your Jim Morrison or Iggy Pop, denim, shorts, singlets, thongs and sandals are not acceptable attire.
Transport
Make an entrance and get a limo.
Don't take a cab. You don't want to spoil a great day with a taxi that never shows, so plan ahead and get hold of the biggest, blackest limo you can find. While some public transport options exist, the rock and roll god's just aren't going to like going home on a bus after such a great gig
Entry.
The racecourse has several entrances but this year Rockin' Horse guests will need to use the Ledger gate. The Ledger gate is located about 150m north (towards the river) of the main gate on Grandstand road.
As we've upgraded and simplified our ticketing system, this year, all you need is a bar coded ticket. When your ticket is scanned at the ledger gate you'll be provided with all the necessary accreditation you need to come and go as you please. No mail outs and no need to pick up tickets from an office – easy!
